A few kilometers from Colmar, in the heart of Alsace, is theSCHIELE House. It is in the small village of Ammerschwihr that the SCHIELE family cultivates, transforms and markets its wines.
A Land of History
Thequality of Alsatian landlargely explained by its geological history. From granite to limestone, via shale, clay or even sandstone, thisfloor mosaicrepresents an area of approximately 15,500 hectares and allows many grape varieties to flourish fully. The impact of the terroir givesAlsatian winesasoul supplement, a note that is both complex and unique.
A Family House
Since its creation by Auguste SCHIELE, Denis' grandfather, the business has continued to diversify. Today, the family opts for aOrganic culturevines and wine. For twenty years, respect for the environment has beenheart of their work. This philosophy naturally led to the choice of organic farming.
Maison SCHIELE cultivates on5.5 hectaresdifferent Alsatian grape varieties: Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Auxerrois, Pinot Gris, Muscat, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Gewurztraminer including the Grand Cru Kaefferkopf Gewurztraminer.
